Thomas a eu une illustre carri\u00e8re de golfeur en remportant de nombreux titres professionnels - il a \u00e9galement particip\u00e9 \u00e0 13 championnats Open et a termin\u00e9 deuxi\u00e8me derri\u00e8re Jack Nicklaus lors de l'Open de 1966. Il a \u00e9t\u00e9 membre de quatre \u00e9quipes de la Ryder Cup et, \u00e0 la suite d'une blessure au dos, il a \u00e9t\u00e9 inspir\u00e9 par Peter Aliss pour devenir concepteur de parcours. Thomas a con\u00e7u pr\u00e8s de 150 parcours entre le d\u00e9but des ann\u00e9es 1970 et le d\u00e9but des ann\u00e9es 2000.\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335559739&quot;:0,&quot;335559740&quot;:240}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Almenara <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">serpente \u00e0 travers les collines de Sotogrande et se trouve \u00e0 c\u00f4t\u00e9 du parc naturel Los Alcornocales. L'installation de 27 trous est c<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">onstitu\u00e9 de trois boucles de 9 trous : Pinos, Lagos et Alcornoques - chacune avec son propre style. Les trois boucles de 9 trous offrent une fantastique vari\u00e9t\u00e9. Le parcours de Pinos serpente magnifiquement \u00e0 travers une for\u00eat pittoresque, tandis que le parcours de Lagos b\u00e9n\u00e9ficie d'un paysage spectaculaire en se d\u00e9pla\u00e7ant autour d'un grand lac au centre du trac\u00e9. Le parcours d'Alcornoques se distingue des autres par d'\u00e9normes d\u00e9nivel\u00e9s du tee au green et une exp\u00e9rience globalement plus vallonn\u00e9e. <\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335559739&quot;:0,&quot;335559740&quot;:240}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">En 2021, l'ensemble du parcours a \u00e9t\u00e9 remodel\u00e9 par le l\u00e9gendaire golfeur local, Manuel <\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">Pi\u00f1ero. Pi\u00f1ero a \u00e9t\u00e9 un golfeur extr\u00eamement performant sur le Tour europ\u00e9en tout au long des ann\u00e9es 1970, remportant neuf titres sur le circuit. Il a repr\u00e9sent\u00e9 l'Europe lors des Ryder Cups de 1981 et 1985 et a remport\u00e9 les points essentiels pour l'\u00e9quipe europ\u00e9enne, qui a battu l'Am\u00e9rique pour la premi\u00e8re fois en 30 ans.\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335559739&quot;:0,&quot;335559740&quot;:240}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">La construction du nouvel h\u00f4tel SO\/Sotogrande et la n\u00e9cessit\u00e9 de maintenir le niveau du golf et des \u00e9quipements dans la station de Sotogrande ont \u00e9t\u00e9 \u00e0 l'origine de ce remodelage. \"<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.golfcircus.com\/entrevista-con-ricardo-andrades-director-de-golf-de-almenara-golf-sotogrande\/\"><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Mon objectif \u00e9tait de rendre le parcours plus convivial pour le joueur moyen d'Almenara Golf.<\/span><\/a><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Pour moi, Almenara \u00e9tait un parcours compliqu\u00e9, avec des fairways tr\u00e8s \u00e9troits et beaucoup de bunkers, o\u00f9 il fallait garder la balle au centre du fairway, ce qui rendait certains trous tr\u00e8s difficiles \u00e0 jouer\", a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 Pi.<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00f1ero. <\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335559739&quot;:0,&quot;335559740&quot;:240}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">Parmi les am\u00e9liorations apport\u00e9es, on peut citer l'\u00e9limination des bunkers et l'\u00e9lagage pour rendre les fairways plus larges et plus faciles \u00e0 jouer.
