Last Friday, Sotogrande commemorated its 63rd anniversary with an institutional event that coincided with the official opening of The Alto Golf Club Academy, a new space dedicated to the training and development of golfers, reinforcing Sotogrande’s historic connection with sport and excellence.
The event brought together a wide representation of institutional, business, and social figures from Campo de Gibraltar and its surroundings. Among the attendees were Francisco Javier Ros, Deputy Representative of the Andalusian Regional Government in Campo de Gibraltar, as well as mayors and municipal representatives from San Roque, Algeciras, Estepona, and San Martín del Tesorillo, along with members of the province of Cádiz’s business and community network.

Speakers included Francisco Javier Ros, Rami Badr, CEO of Sotogrande, and Isidoro Mínguez, Chairman of Sotogrande’s Board of Directors, who all highlighted Sotogrande’s commitment over more than six decades to quality of life, sustainability, boosting the local economy, and promoting sport as essential pillars of its identity.
They also emphasized the significance of The Alto Golf Club Academy as an innovative, top-tier training project that combines the expertise of a highly qualified professional team with cutting-edge technology, thanks to the incorporation of the Toptracer system—the only one of its kind in the region. The new academy also benefits from the involvement of renowned international golf figures such as Suzann Pettersen and Manuel Piñero, who contribute their knowledge and vision to the project’s development.
The event served to celebrate Sotogrande’s legacy and evolution, reaffirming its position as a benchmark for sustainable development, sporting excellence, and quality of life in Southern Europe.
