The Alto Club Opens New Par-3 Golf Course in Sotogrande

The Alto Club has officially opened its new 9-hole Par-3 golf course in Sotogrande, marking an exciting new chapter for its Golf & Academy offering. The opening was celebrated with a special event attended by two-time Major champion Suzann Pettersen and seven-time DP World Tour winner Álvaro Quirós.

Located within SO/ Sotogrande Spa & Golf Resort, the new Par-3 course has been designed by Ryder Cup legend Manuel Piñero to offer an enjoyable, accessible and varied golf experience for players of all ages and abilities.

More than 40 guests, members and golfers joined the official opening, taking part in a shotgun tournament and becoming some of the first players to experience the new course.

A new 9-hole Par-3 course in Sotogrande

Featuring nine holes ranging from approximately 80 to 200 metres, The Alto Club’s new Par-3 course offers a versatile format that can be enjoyed by both new and experienced golfers.

For beginners and families, the shorter format provides an accessible introduction to golf in a relaxed environment. More experienced players can use the course to refine their iron play, distance control and short game.

The result is a golf experience that can be enjoyed as a complete round in its own right or incorporated into a wider day of practice and play at The Alto Club.

Celebrating with Suzann Pettersen and Álvaro Quirós

The opening brought together two prominent names in European golf, with Suzann Pettersen, Global Ambassador of The Alto Club Golf Academy, joining Spanish professional Álvaro Quirós for the celebrations.

Their participation marked another important milestone in the evolution of The Alto Club and its ambition to create a golf destination that brings together world-class facilities, coaching and experiences in Sotogrande.

A complete golf and academy experience at The Alto Club

The new Par-3 course complements The Alto Club’s 18-hole golf course, Golf Academy and Toptracer-equipped driving range, creating an increasingly complete environment in which to learn, practise and play golf in Sotogrande.

Golfers can move from coaching and practice at the Academy and driving range to sharpening their short game on the Par-3 course or enjoying a full round on the 18-hole course.

This combination allows The Alto Club to offer different ways to experience golf, whether for members, resort guests, families, beginners or experienced players looking to improve specific areas of their game.

More than golf

Set within SO/ Sotogrande Spa & Golf Resort, The Alto Club combines its golf facilities with the wider resort experience of hospitality, wellness and gastronomy.

The opening of the new Par-3 course is the latest step in the continued transformation of The Alto Club and reinforces its commitment to offering a complete golf experience in Sotogrande, one of Southern Europe’s most renowned golf destinations.

Whether discovering golf for the first time, enjoying a round with family and friends or working on the finer details of the game, the new Par-3 course offers another way to experience golf at The Alto Club.
